This was an unexpected delight in this fascinating city. The interior has been cleverly designed so that original Roman walls are visible through the new glass walls of this attractive building. There are three floors where original traditional Croatian costumes are displayed in glass cases...More

We gained a further understanding of Croatia. It is more Slavic than Mediterranean. The Payoff was a poorly marked upper doorway leading to the the stairs in the inside of the Vesibule... worth the climb for view and perspective on the Vestibule

A very interesting museum on a more interesting location in the center of the old town in Diocletian's palace. We enjoyed exploring sections of history in a super ambiance. Would certainly recommend that you look at it if you are in Split.

Reading the review that immediately precedes mine, I have to chuckle. That reviewer wrote that the stuff on olive oil production was most interesting, while the clothes and weapons were less so. *I* was just about to write that I found the stuff on olive...More

Well-laid out, well signed in Croatian and English, a wide range of local artifacts. The olive harvest interested me the most although I can well understand that others would be fascinated by the ethnic costumes or the weapons. A pleasant place to pass an hour...More

We went into the museum for shelter whilst spending a day in Split in the pouring rain, and were so pleased we did! It's a modern museum exhibiting traditional folk costumes, customs, occupations, artifacts and even a reconstructed room. All in a contemporary conversion of...More
