Marjan Hill was recommended by the owner of our accommodation. We haven't read the comments and seen the photos at TA. In fact, we used the "residential" route up to the half-way point where there was a cafe. Only realized that that was not the usual path on the map when we descended.... The correct path had many steps. When... More

You have to come here in autumn to appreciate the calm and beauty of this place not in the summer when there are all sort of people going at the sea like invaders. Very good for walk and meditation

Great in town park for a walk, jogg, exercise, family hangout, swimm or anything else in nature. It is just a 15min walk from town center or by a local bus line from town coast called Riva. Very peaceful, clean air, quiet and with beautiful nature and walking paths accross the whole hill. Especially to have a spectacular overview of... More

it is a nice forested area on the edge of town, a good place for a walk to see the coast. we walked to the churches (all were locked) and over to the first beach, then took the bus back. a nice afternoon.

There is a path going around the Marjan hill, which is excellent for running or biking around. There is also separate paths leading up to the hill top, where there is a viewing platform, the problem is too many trees around the viewing platform to actually get great views. There are some okay views from there, but nothing that special.

Suffering enterprise with outdoor activities for a sort of adult/child playground. Tennis courts, and other activities, passed their hey day. Was happy to have the tennis option, but it was a bit pricey for the state of the courts.

is how the locals refer to the Marjan. It is a beautifully secluded hill with plenty of tree shade. It is steep and longer than it looks on the map so if you want to walk the whole thing, set aside a day and bring a picnic and plenty of water. You can do just a part of it and,... More

We walked through the city and up a steep street, which eventually led to steps - lots of them. We reached a belvedere which provided lovely views over the city. The walk through the trees was lovely. As we were pressed for time, we did not reach the summit. This was a great pity, as photos of the Marjan show... More

This island has some hidden spots. We hired bikes and did a circular trip to the island in between we stopped at these small paths which leads us to this beautiful hidden treasures. Its a must visit. Also a hike to the top of the cross is well worth it for the Ariel view of Split.

Marjan Hill is a forested peninsula just northeast of the Old Town Split and Diocletian's Palace. The hill is protected and heavily covered in Mediterranean pine forest. It's been used as a park and recreation site since the time of Diocletian. Today it's still a popular recreation site with locals and tourists and just a few minute walk from the... More
