My daughter and I did the walls after a 6 hour GOT tour so it was the middle of the day and about 40 degrees (the locals call it suicide hour 4pm) It was well worth the effort as again the views were amazing
We recommend going as early as possible (8 am) to avoid the worst sun and masses. Also we recommend the entrance at the maritime museum: you have a quit and stunning start before joining the masses about halfway at the pile gate. Also a tip:...More
At first glance the entrance price is a bit steep, as are the steps you encounter along the route. But it took us 2 hours to get round the entire circumference, obviously stopping to take photos, admire the view or let people pass through narrow...More
I had visited Dubronik thrice before but never done this till now.
The city and surrounding seas are much more beautiful from this vantage point.

Make sure you take water, if you forget there are small stands
Take good shoes and head there in the morning or the evening as there is little shade (and remember a hat). For us the views were better from the walls than from the cable car.
You need to be aware of your surroundings when on...More

I would definitely use a private guide who can help you cover as much ground as possible for your time in Dubrovnik. I will search my files for the name of the guide we had. Well worth the money.
