Let's face it, you don't go to Croatia for its fine white sandy beaches - visit Turks & Caicos or Aruba for that. There are plenty of places to swim off the rocks in the Adriatic, but if you're looking for a decent sandy beach,...More

Visited this as part of Elaphiti tour and then deep safari tour. If you arrive as part of Elaphiti tour you will be dropped in the port on the other side of the island. Island is car free. Golf buggies are available for rent to...More

Lopud is a place that will always have a special place in my heart. I have visited this island twice now, everything on the island is so perfect, the clear Adriatic sea, the charming restaurants perched on the sea, plenty of walks to explore the...More

This island was my favorite among the 3 stops we made for the Elaphiti island tour. The scenery and landscape was beautiful but it was hard to get a taste of the local culture as everything was aimed at tourism.

Such beautiful small island, and in june not as much tourists as expected, which was nice. Also lots of nice beaches, and the nature is astonishing. Lots of things to do, also possible to take the ferry to the other islands and to Dubrovnik.

Lopud is only an hour's ferry ride from Dubrovnik but a world away in atmosphere and, outside day tripper hours, beautifully relaxed. No cars, splendid fish restaurants, old churches, lovely walks, extremely picturesque.

The monastery is only a few steps to your left. But if you can, confirm whether it's open to the public as there was restoration work going on when I was there and it was closed. They rent golf carts right at the ferry drop... More

Public transport can be obtained in Dubrovnik at the ferry terminal. There's a lot going on with the cruise ships, but forget everything and head towards the ferry that takes the islanders and touring people on a small ferry... More
