It's an urban legend that if you sit on Djuras lap and whisper your wish to him, it will come true. Try and see it yourself. My wish came true ... but I forgot to pay Loto ticket ;-)

Djura is the most popular person in Dunavski Park. I think, there is no person from Serbia without picture in his lap! Every time I'm taking new, making jokes with him and once we were talking about life in Park 😁 Between my friend and me is a joke that he is our boyfriend. He is waiting for you every... More

Djura was a great man, so great monument he got. It's attractive for people taking pictures sitting in his chest... He wouldn't be so happy to know people do that, he was bohemian artist... Anyway, interesting too see, take a picture... There was exactly the same monument in Skadarlija street in Belgrade.

The statue of Djura Jaksic his excellent work by sculptor Jovan Soldatovic. The similar artwork you may see in Skadarlija in Belgrade. Djura Jaksic was famous Serbian poet and writer, dramatist, one of Serbia's greatest painters. So, it is recommended to take a walk in nice Danube Park and look for this statue near small lake.

yeah, so walking down the danube park you stumble across this statue with no markings, no clue to who he is, but fortunately there's free wifi from the city so you can google to find out who he was. shortly, he was a painter, writer and a teacher... the statue is comfortable to sit down, so you can take a... It is a lovely park with a swan lake and lots of space for children to play. It is in the old part of the town, it is place to go for a walk or to pass by on you way to the oldest city market.

In Danube park must see monument to Djura Jaksic, famous Serbian poet, painter and patriot. Some of his song are part of Serbian national heritage
