Great Boat tour of the Bay
Relaxing boat tour of the Bay of Kotor. My sister and I stayed in Kotor and decided our feet had enough walking, so we took a 2 hr boat tour on the bay and visited some of the busy tourist sites. We had a great time. I am not one to wander around old churches but my sister was. I could not climb up to 2nd stories or floors, my mobility was limited, so instead, I opted to stay on the boat and the captain & I had a great chat. I wish I could remember the name of thr boat tour but I cannot. Thr boat was easy enough to get in amd out of. Montenegro is a place for walking. I saw 2 people with canes, no wheelchairs, mopeds seemed to be comandeered by group tourists. If you're handicapped, it's a difficult country to get around in.

    Experienced the Bay Two Ways
We were on an Oceania cruise and traversed this beautiful placid bay coming and going to/from Kotor. Passed by Lady of the Rocks at sunup and sundown getting spectacular photos. After landing we were transported by comfortable van along the shoreline road to Perast giving us a first hand look at the many sites along the way (fish farms, small colorful villages, scenic landscapes...) . Will remember this trip fondly and would hope we return someday!

    Beautiful……so a busy place!!
The Bay of Kotor and the place itself is beautiful which leads to crowds and the nightmare of cruise ship passenger excursions. Take out a boat and enjoy the views but my tip would be to visit out of main season. I have been here a few times and late September/early October is my favourite.

    Well worth the visit
Beautifully preserved ancient town. Lots of restaurants and bars within the Walls. Gets very crowded once the Cruise Ships pull in (right next to the Old town). When going for dinner, try to make it after 7pm, the boats have generally gone by then. HILL CLIMB..... Be prepared to pay 8€ each. If you get up and back before 8am, the ticket turnstiles are unmanned. Go as early as possible. The walk is shielded from the sun by rock walls beside the trail, but once the sun is up, the heat rises rapidly. The views at the top are spectacular, we'll worth the effort. There's a free trail too. Take the long straight road next to the Shopping Centre 'Kamelia' which parallels the river. At the end, behind a disused power station, you'll notice a zigzag trail. Take this. You'll pass a cheese shop etc on the way up. To get into the fortress, just climb through an archway.

Beautiful Bay - view it from multiple vantage points
We came to Montenegro mostly because of this beautiful bay. We were fortunate enough to stay in Kotor for multiple days instead of only coming for a day trip, and we had a rental car which meant we could drive most of the roads around it. The Bay and its surroundings are beautiful, with water and steep mountains and many quaint cities. The roads are often narrow and curvy, but the scenery makes them well worth it. We found multiple places from which to get scenic views, including roadside pullouts, the views from the car itself, and chances to get high above it (especially the serpentine road above Kotor). Kotor and its bay were definitely a highlight of our trip!

Must visit location on the Balkans
A must visit area of Montenegro or even on a day trip from Dubrovnik. The stunning views and numerous swimming areas make this one of the best tourists places on the Balkans and I am from another Balkan country. It is very beautiful to just go around the bay by car and absorb the atmosphere. Some of the small villages after Kotor are also a must with their picturesque boats and bays. Unfortunately getting to Kotos is rather challenging as the traffic is very heavy all day. From Dubrovnik with the customs checks, you need around 3 hours just to get there and that was with us leaving 6 in the morning.

Little care for waste in the town drives its value downwards.
The bay is beautiful. With its high mountains and green till the sea, the color of the water ! However there is little to no wind given the bay geography. So be prepared for the heat. Also the sea water is quite warm given it is a bay of a bay. Finally and what concerns me the most is the level of trash found along the shore and in the water of the bay. Little care for waste in the town drives its value downwards.

Get up early for your arrival in the Bay of Kotor
Fantastic views await you as your cruise ship enters the Bay of Kotor. Natural beauty all around. Most cruise ships arrive early into Kotor and leave early evening. Strongly suggest on your day visiting Kotor you rise early and enjoy the vision as your ship enters the Bay

    Picturesque bay
I was lucky to visit on a nice clear day and very much enjoyed the trip around bay. So peaceful and calming, colour of water is amazing and the change of scenery as you move around bay is really nice. I suppose experience of kotor Bay may depend on weather conditions.

Fjord-like bay with history and architecture
Entered the bay at sunrise and our small ship turned several times to reach Kotor. The scenery is spectacular with the mountains, villages, and the famous Madonna of the Rocks Byzantine-style church on the artificial island. The topography resembles a fjord that you would see in Alaska or Norway. Don't miss this one on your next cruise, or if you can, take a boat ride from Kotor itself.

Loved the bay of Kotor. It was absolutely beautiful. We drove in on a bus which took a while and then jumped on a boat to our lady of the rocks and then onto Kotor. Loved the boat trip. Got to enjoy some time at the front of the boat to really take it in. The water and the views are stunning. Proper special place. Definitely get the best view from the water.

This fantastic place is very popular. We visited it by ship, it was a super one-day-tour. It’s the largest natural bay of the southern part of the Adriatic Sea. It consists of 4 parts: Bay of Herceg Novi, Risani, Kotori- and Tivati-. The length of the bay is 28kms. It’s really beautiful, I think everybody must see it.
