The ruins of the old Roman Theatre are in such great shape today that they actually still use them for musical performances.

So well preserved that it is used very often for concerts.Better than the Roman Theatres in Alexandria and Caesaria.Our guide "Chimy"filled us with many historical facts.It is,however,a rather steep climb up.

On the Top of the hill offers good view to the city of Plovdiv. As long as you visit old city you must ceratinly visit it. It is a bautiful and symmetrical theatre

Wandering around Plovdiv is a remarkable experience, the stadium and this theatre were exceptional! I think Quimmy said it best when she recommended coming thru here at night to see it all lit up, but it helped me to see it in the daylight hours...More

A beautiful site to see... I would recommend going at night too as you see it all lit up. If you go on the free Plovdiv tour you will find out how this roman theatre was first found.. very interesting

I haven't seen a ramp for wheelchairs and in general the access to the place to start with will be very tricky - the old town is mostly laid with cobble stones and on foot it can be tricky, let alone with a helping vehicle... More
