This is a very old mosque which is being kept in a great shape . Open to all visitors . Daily guided tours by the locals can be joined at almost all times for small amount of money . A nice mosque.

Was welcomed to the Mosque by the locals, respecting their rules etc. The mosque is huge and has a very peaceful atmosphere.

The Great Mosque of Kairouan is one of the most impressive and largest Islamic monuments in North Africa. It is also one of the oldest places of worship in the Islamic world, as well as a model for all later mosques in the Maghreb.
