I was able to do this cruise at virtually almost the last minute, and it was only 300 Baht.
The cruise was 2 hours and prior to me arriving, they said it started at 4pm.
Luckily, I arrived about 10 minutes after 4, and other would be patrons were also still arriving.
We ended up leaving at about 4:30 (which was totally cool), and had plenty of time to be on the river and enjoying all the scenery of the mountains as the sun got lower and lower.

They also offered a free mojito but I passed on it.
They also have a cool little traditional thing that they do (and had more meaning since I was there just 2 days before New Years)
Basically they have you write down 1 thing you wish to be rid of in the most recent year on a banana leaf no less!
Then you write down another thing that you wish to happen for you in the new year that is good.
One of the staff members then collect all the banana leaves and once it gets dark, they burn them and let them fall into the river!

Such a cool experience and I certainly hope that the things I wished for, do occur in the new year!
The 1 burden and 1 wish activity made for a really worthwhile trip, (plus seeing the sunset from the river)
By the time was returned, it was just a little after 6pm.

If you're in LP, I highly suggest doing a sunset cruise, and why not do it with Sa Sa?

We really enjoyed the sunset cruise it was a really peaceful experience and really worth the money. We lay on the sun beds at the top of the deck and just watched the river gently float by. We had plenty of time cruising slowly towards the sunset. There was some gentle music on like Ibiza chill out which really added to the experience. The staff were very friendly and the two small rituals they added were really nice. Would recommend

The Mekong sunset is beautiful BUT the experience would be better if there is more time to enjoy it. On 1Oct22, the cruise started late at 5:26pm. The staff and business operators said they were waiting for other guests to arrive.
I want to support this business and this is why I am posting this review. A sunset cruise, by the very nature of the activity, is time-sensitive. The day was already cloudy, we started late, and we began by cruising away from the sunset (!). We then made a u-turn at the point where the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers meet. By the time we faced the sunset, there were very few minutes left to see it.
The cruise begn late to accommodate some people who arrived late. Before the cruise, I even messaged the operator if we can arrive at 5:00pm but she insisted that we had to be there at 4:45pm. The staff offered refreshments, perhaps to compensate.

Wanted to the sunset on the Mekong - and that is what we got.
Loved the ship, the service on bord and you get a free mojito as a welcome drink.
There are also two kind of rituals at the end of the trip, that makes it an unforgettable experience for us.

When you are in Luang Prabang, definitely a must do (can be also quite romantic if you are couple)

This was a lovely way to see the sunset on the Mekong! They gave us welcome drinks and snacks were available throughout.
There was a very cute fire ceremony at the end of the cruise as well.
Denis makes the experience special and there is lovely music playing throughout.
Very nice way to spend an evening in Luang Prabang :)

If you’re thinking about it; just go.

The organiser is very friendly and makes the cruise that bit better than every other one.

You’ll get a free drink on board and there is a barbecue on the go throughout the trip where you can purchase snacks.
The cruise runs into the sunset and has a beautiful view, it’s an excellent way to bring in the evening. Very romantic.

All in all a great 2 hour cruise along the river. Excellent value for money and the boat has lots of comfortable seating and a great ambience.

The only thing I would rate negatively is the fish ceremony. (See photo) The irony of hearing how they are releasing the fish back into the river having saved them from the BBQ and then 5 minutes later coming around with a dead animal on a skewer from the BBQ and having tuna on the menu was just ridiculous and disrespectful :(

Fair priced, the cruise itself was confusing because the boat went away from the sunset instead of in to it. If the boat has gone into we would have seen the full sun set instead of half of it.

The mojitos are listed twice on the menu at two different prices, as everything we read everything fully.

It was cheaper than paying a guy with a boat to take us (120 000 kip / hour) this cost us 190 000 kip for two people for two hours. Two free drinks, decent seats and two free shots of whisky
