It's main attraction is the tower clock. It's not a bad square overall, but there's not that much to see and it's crowded with cars. Not worth visiting in its own right.

I traveled Aleppo in September 2010 when everything was standing and people were happy. It was the Holy Ramadan month and people were on streets until 4 am. Everyone was smiling and they were really gentle. I have also visited Armenian, Greek and Maronite churches that do not stand anymore. We had talked to the deacon in the Armenian Church all night long but I suppose he is dead now. The bazar that we shopped, the streets we walked and the cafes where we met gentle and humble local people are all destroyed now.
It gives me so much pain to see the city and its people to suffer like that. It is not Syrians' fault and hope everything is gonna get better one day. Before it gets too late. Time changes everything but does not wash the crimes of terror..

I just wonder how this place is now. During my visit, this was one on of most vibrant and unforgettable locales of Aleppo, bustling with traffic and people going about their daily errands. Lots of local shops around the square, the olive stalls with those colorful varieties are wonderful.
