Chateau Ksara, the country's oldest winery, founded in 1857 by Jesuit Fathers.

In August 1973, sold to a consortium of Lebanese businessmen

Chateau Ksara's motto is "Modernity in Tradition". It is an idea that captures perfectly our position as Lebanon's oldest winery and the pioneering spirit that has kept Chateau Ksara at the forefront of Lebanon's wine industry, for over 156 years.

Today's wine drinkers are both informed and discerning, and therefore we are committed to producing quality wines - varietals and blends made from our 25 local and international varieties - that will satisfy all palates and suit all occasions.

Not only are our wines made to the most exacting standards with state of the art equipment, they also reflect the terroir of the Lebanon's historic Bekaa Valley, an area that has been making wine for over 2,000 years. It is a legacy that we respect with every bottle we make.

Brand values

The name of Chateau Ksara has become associated with the three core values: tradition, nobility and modernity. These are emphasized through name and lineage (tradition); through a high-quality product (nobility) and the tremendous innovative advances made since 1991 (modernity).

This was a part of the tour i had signed up for and i was quite looking forward to it. The wine was just not good and expensive if compared to the quality of European wines. The tour itself is quite good as the cellars are deep inside caves.

The lady that guided us was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a great time. Nice variety of wines and the caves are very interesting. It's great that it opens early too. The only minor downside is that not a lot of variety of food in the kitchen when we visited, but that doesn't affect the rating of course.

We went as part of a bus tour with Nakhal Travel, it was a little rushed as the weather was closing in on the mountain, not anyone's fault. We went through the caves, saw the different barrels, we had the tasting of a few different types of wine, I will come back when the weather is better. bought some wine,... More

Chateau Ksara is a good place to visit get more information about the wine and taste it but unfortunately the restaurant is not really great and we don't have a big choice of food. The meat is on normal level as for the salmon is good.

One has to consider the whole package when going to Chateau Ksara. One would not go there just for the food. The food choice on the menu is varied but limited. I think we tried almost everything they had. The salad bar, the quiche, the pizza, the steak and the fresh salmon. All “well above average”. The decor is simple... More

I was there with a friend of mine who is Lebanese and we wanted to try some local wine. The area is very very nice, the Bekaa Valley in general. Staff is very friendly and the wines were really after my taste :) Would not hesitate to come back anytime.

We went as a group of 4 adults with our 11 month old. We just walked in and they gave us a tour right away. They start off with an informational video followed by a tour of the Roman cellars under the building and ended with wine tasting. We had a wonderful time and it worked well with our baby.... More

I had very high expectations coming to ksara. I was told there is a tour, followed bu wine tasting, and then lunch. The tour was so disappointing that i was about to leave. The guide was stiff, lifeless, and treating us as if we were being punished !!
