Interesting architecture. All mosques are closed outside of prayer times. Note the Mamluk architecture especially the arches.

One of the Mameluke jewels in Tripoli. Built on the remains of a church and has served the commnity for centuries.

It a Memluk Masjid in Tripoli and considered the biggest in the city, where the hair of prophet Mohammad SAAW is put in public during the holly month of Ramadan.

The place is amazing in winter, entrance is allowed for non Muslims men, but for women they need to wear a scarf.

If you can find a guide this is very well worth doing. We were lucky and were shown around for some time. Would certainly recommend.

Located in the old city of Tripoli. A must visit Mosque and a must visit nearby old city ! You can find the Gold market just few meters away and the "Khan Saboun" old market !

Built since more than 700 years ago, this had been the central mosque in the city for centuries.. It is surrounded by Souks(markets) and many hidden gems. It has 4 gates and a solar clock. You might be lucky to find a local tour guide...More

Once we arrived, doors were locked. As it comed out, thankfully... we were "found" by Ali Khawaja - a bit crazy but fantastic local man who guided as through the whole city (including the mosque!).
