The Mansouri Great Mosque was built in the Mamluk period, it’s the biggest Mosque in tripoli and the oldest, many other building attached to the Mosque and related to it.

Interesting architecture. All mosques are closed outside of prayer times. Note the Mamluk architecture especially the arches.

One of the Mameluke jewels in Tripoli. Built on the remains of a church and has served the commnity for centuries.

It a Memluk Masjid in Tripoli and considered the biggest in the city, where the hair of prophet Mohammad SAAW is put in public during the holly month of Ramadan.

The place is amazing in winter, entrance is allowed for non Muslims men, but for women they need to wear a scarf.

If you can find a guide this is very well worth doing. We were lucky and were shown around for some time. Would certainly recommend.
