The most beautiful mosque?

This mosque claims to be the most beautiful in the world and though it might have some contenders it is certainly up there. the mosaic work and the atmosphere are amazing.

This very attractive mosque is located in the Naqshe Jahan square but is unfortunately not open for visitors early in the morning. Since I was there at around 7am I had to content myself with views from the outside. Still very attractive though.

In large cities there are mosques in every neighborhood. This one is exceptional. The beauty, the history, the architecture are all exceptional.

Beautiful beautiful mosque. You need to go there to see the beauty, I can't describe with words! In the world we have several well known Islamic architectures like the ones in India and Turkey but this mosque and the imam square complex should be added to the list of such architectures!

Most of verses are... More

After the splendors of the neighboring Shah Mosque, one might expect a visit to the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque to be anti-climactic. But this private mosque (signaled by its lack of minarets) built for the great Safavid ruler Shah Abbas' son and daughter-in-law is a magnificent jewel with a radiant, multi-colored dome and a vast gilded ceiling.
