The area
Neighbourhood: The Marina
It’s hard to believe that only a decade ago there was no marina. Opened in 2003, the man-made marina runs along a 3km stretch of shoreline. A heady mix of luxurious hotels, apartment buildings, and cafes, the marina hosts regular community events and markets, and is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon or evening. Spectacular at night when the skyscrapers glisten, here you can enjoy dinner on the beach next to the sea, or visit a high-rise bar in a hotel for a magnificent view across the Gulf and the man-made Palm Island, with the world-famous Atlantis Hotel at its end. The Walk at Jumeirah beach Residences is a pedestrianized stretch leading to a new development: The Beach. It’s one of the few places where Gulf nationals mix with tourists and Western ex-pats. It’s a popular place to show off your supercar for an evening, so watch out for Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris in abundance.

    Overhyped
It certainly bits other Dubai locations in terms of walkability. It’s very accessible with numerous of restaurant, some of them licensed. It’s worth checking out Pavilion for its selection of places. Beach has different kids attraction. Inflatable playground on the see is quite good fun. Beach gets busy however and cleaning doesn’t always happen on time. Marina mall area is also nice to walk around with multiple restaurants ect. At the same time I’m missing anything special about this area, it’s fairly generic without much charm. It really overpriced and can get really jammed with traffic in the evenings. It is also on a chavvy side, can get really loud and unpleasant.

A smothering forest of high rises
We were actually quite disappointed with the Marina area in a 4 night stay there. It’s a forest of skyscrapers with apparently little pre- planning done. We found the Marina Walk to be somewhat lifeless most of the day . On the other hand, we loved Bluewaters Island, which is adjacent , but out of smothering skyscrapers of the Marina!

    Stunning Sight After Dark
Beautiful marina surrounded by modern high rises creates a stunning sight especially after dark. Plenty of expensive places to shop, eat and drink. Mama Zonia at Pier 7 was an outstanding dining experience overlooking the water. The Marina embodies the glamour and wealth of Dubai, but it also lacks something. It is clean and all newly built in the last decade or two but it feels a bit sterile and lacks authenticity probably as it doesn't have any history.

    Stunning architecture
Interesting reading the reviews now - it seems like it would be very worthwhile to go back in the evening when the lights are on. I was there in late morning, and it was almost deserted. Admittedly, it was 37 degrees, so perhaps people were staying indoors due to the heat. In any case, it was a beautiful area with interesting architecture. Use of the tram through the area was included in a metro daypass, and was a useful way of getting around, although to get to the water you will have to walk from one of the stops.

Lovely area but be on the look out
A beautiful area to walk around either in the day or night, but the lights make the evening experience a little more enjoyable. Loads of smart restaurants and cafes to eat and drink at and not too expensive for the area. Just two issues that we didn’t enjoy which stops me giving it 5 stars 1/ Some of the touts trying to get you to eat in their restaurant were a bit invasive and stopped a nice leisurely walk. Others are not a problem when you say you have eaten or meeting someone. Just be prepared! 2/ the second issue was a real nuisance and that is the E scooters that plague the area. They travel at some speed and you can’t here them, they also have electric buggies that are a nuisance as well. I get that it would be beneficial for people with mobility problems but this is just for fun. Please be aware of your environment as there a few near misses. Personally I’d like to see them stopped as it stops you relaxing as you walk about. Some fabulous yachts in the marina to drool over as well. There is also the marina mall which is pleasant to walk around

    Beautiful marina
The area is very beautiful. It is surrounded by skyscrapers, with a waterfront promenade, there are many restaurants (but very few also serve alcohol...). There are also a few small grocery stores where you can buy water or juice at reasonable prices. Also, there is a mall, but it is not the most beautiful in Dubai. In the evening, the employees of the restaurants trying to convince you to stop at them are a bit annoying. The area is much more spectacular and livelier in the evening.

We really enjoyed our time walking around in this area. Many of Dubai's other tall buildings are here and we enjoyed the architecture and design in the area. It is worthwhile checking out a restaurant in this area to sit and enjoy the views with some good. The closest metro is DMCC and there are a few tram connections nearby. Plan to spend a couple of hours here in cooler months and more if you plan to dine here.

Amidst the waterfront stretch are a basic mall , many elegant looking skyscrapers, high priced residences and ultra expensive yachts. Several boats on standby if you desire the arranged dinner cruise. Good for photo ops as well .

Nice place to stroll around. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza right on the marina and only a short walk from Marina Mall. Was hoping for more quality restaurants around the marina, but few found.

Dubai marina is where you'll fins some of the yachting clubs that do excursions. Do not get this confused with Dubai Harbour that's in a completely different location. As well as admiring the vessels, it's also a very pleasant walk along it's promenade where you can get great photos of the skyscrapers and stop in one of numerous restaurants or cafes

People are so nice and very accomadating, their smile were so warmth and welcoming. Also the guy Mr.Vaibhav was so nice and told us to ask him if we needed anything else. Forgot his name but surely I will recommend this resto for my friends 👍
