Val has excellent knowledge of Dubai history, culture, current events etc. A wealth of information, super friendly and full of energy. 8 hours non stop we covered more in one day than most people would cover in a week. Take this tour, you will be very impressed. I enjoyed so much was second time in three years.

We spent 10 days in January with my family and we wanted to visit Dubai and to know more about the country. And not just visit the shopping malls. I have been already to Dubai but not my wife. By luck I decided at that time to do some excursions with Valérie and as I really liked these tours I... More

My wife and I took Val's historical tour which explained how Dubai became what it is now, including old Dubai and the various traditional souks. We would never have managed this authentic area on our own so it was great to go with Val and purchase spices, dates, and some excellent street food. Moreover, while driving, Val told us about... We have been in Dubai for 12 years, we received visitors from France and they wanted to visit. Valerie was our first choice as we have heard so much about her... as it turned out it was all true and much more. I tagged along although I know the UAE but to my enchantement Valerie took visiting the UAE to... More

I love you Val but I had to knock you down a notch for too many loose ends. The morning half was old town, many souks, and taking the water taxis. Very informative, really tops. Constant interesting information. Great lunch right on the Creek. The afternoon session was efficient with the Mall of the Emirates, Arab Burj, the Palm and Atlantis... More

We started off a bit rocky but Val provided a very good tour day. Issues: 1.Booked trip 6 months ahead. PayPal down payment processed. 2.Two follow up emails prior to arrival went in answered. 3.Arrived at our hotel had concierge call for us. Was informed there was no reservation. Luckily we had our PayPal receipt. 4. Val said she would... More

If you are looking for a knowledgable day tour around old and new Dubai you will be hard pressed to beat Tour Val. Valerie is really friendly and good fun. Very happy to recommend! Nothing is too much trouble, including dropping off my sunglass case which I accidentally left in her car.

We booked an Old Dubai/Dubai Creek half day tour with Val & it was fantastic! Val was wonderfully prompt in all her email responses which made our arrangements fast and easy. Val picked us up at our hotel in the Marina area and drove us back to Old Dubai. En route, she patiently answered every single question we had about... More

Based on fantastic reviews by TripAdvisor fans I decided to contact Val to request information about a two day tour for Dubai and Abu Dhabi on October 24/25 after a cruise. Within a few hours she replied with a potential itinerary. I wasn't keen about a few of her choices, but I provided her with more details about us and... More

We did a half day tour of Old Dubai, Val really knows Dubai and gave us a good understanding of the life and history of Dubai while seeing the sights. She was a charming guide who couldn't do more for us. She also organised tickets for the Burg Khalifa for the end of our tour and liased with the Dessert... More

Staying in Jumeirah

Neighbourhood Profile
Jumeirah
Years ago, before the skyscrapers, before the 12-lane highway, there was only Jumeirah. In fact, when the UAE was formed, its rulers signed the agreement in Union House, at the very start of Jumeirah Beach Road. Often called “The Beverly Hills” of Dubai, a drive down Beach Road reveals one enormous, lavish villa after another. Originally residential-only neighbourhoods, they are now also home to an array of cafes, smart boutiques, and art galleries. Home to one of Dubai’s few public beaches, this recently renovated area includes a new boardwalk, running and walking track, with changing facilities and cafes along the way. Another landmark, Jumeirah Mosque, is the only mosque in Dubai that can be entered by non-Muslims. As part of the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, the mosque hosts regular tours and talks about Islam, as part of an “Open Doors, Open Minds” program. A wonderful way to understand more about the UAE and Islam.
