Metro

A fantastic, cheap way of getting round a lot of Dubai, trains can be full at times but no problem getting on with people always polite, will give up their seat for the elderly.

Using the metro in Dbaï is very simple, 2 lines : the red one and the green one, the stations are very clean and safety, it was a pleasure to use it to go to many places to visit

We had a one night layover in Dubai travelling back from Australia. We used the Metro which was clean, fast and efficient. We boarded and during the journey a very nice lady pointed out to me that we might want to move as my husband would be fined as the carriage was for women and children only. We had not... More

Buying a tourist ticket is easy at the many machines. The stations are clean and have toilets. Trains run frequently. Like every few minutes. There are compartments just for women. What I didn't like was that there are hardly any seats and that during rush hour the trains get so full, you may not even get in.

Was a wonderful experience, clean, efficant, easy to use just get a bit crowded during the evenings. Used a day pass which allows you to travel as much as you want for the day.

For punctuality and time saving i would recommend each and every one to try it . Easy way to get off the normal heavy traffic in Dubai roads.

Beyond doubt, this is the cheapest means to move around Dubai. It gets really crowded during rush hours, specially till 11 am & 4-8 pm. Avoid if you are a tourist. Some of the tourist attractions of the city are also far or a good 10-20 min walk from the nearest station. Wish they had planned it better.

We were staying at the Westin Mina Seyahi Beach and Resort at the Marina. We had to take a tram 2 stops to connect to the Metro, which wasn't bad at all to connect. We found the trains clean, safe, and comfortable. We also found it a convenient way to get to the major malls and main attractions in Dubai.... More

This is how public transport is meant to operate! A fantastic experience and the Nol card system is clever. Security is friendly and unassuming. Much cheaper than taxis and definitely quicker when the rush hour traffic hits the main artery of Dubai (Sheikh Zayed Road).
