The area
Neighbourhood: The Marina
It’s hard to believe that only a decade ago there was no marina. Opened in 2003, the man-made marina runs along a 3km stretch of shoreline. A heady mix of luxurious hotels, apartment buildings, and cafes, the marina hosts regular community events and markets, and is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon or evening. Spectacular at night when the skyscrapers glisten, here you can enjoy dinner on the beach next to the sea, or visit a high-rise bar in a hotel for a magnificent view across the Gulf and the man-made Palm Island, with the world-famous Atlantis Hotel at its end. The Walk at Jumeirah beach Residences is a pedestrianized stretch leading to a new development: The Beach. It’s one of the few places where Gulf nationals mix with tourists and Western ex-pats. It’s a popular place to show off your supercar for an evening, so watch out for Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris in abundance.

Beautiful and welcoming club

We were in Dubai for vacation and went to the Dubai Marina Yacht Club specifically to exchange burgees. I don't remember the names of the three ladies who were in the front office, but all of them were very friendly and helpful. We exchanged our burgees and then we had a lovely lunch in the restaurant.

I can't say enough about how friendly everyone was and how warmly we were welcomed. They honor reciprocity and the club is stunning with fabulous facilities. The Dubai Marina Yacht Club burgee is now being proudly flown in the Lewes Yacht Club in Lewes, DE.

Nice hotel vibes, location and view. I enjoyed the lounge on the ground floor, good coffe and snacks. The waitress I belive her name is Nicole, was very friendly and welcoming.

Nice Club, probably. Shame about the buggies.

I cannot comment on the Yacht Club itself but I am sure it is very nice indeed.

However, the Yacht Club buggies that race up and down the Marina Walk are often, but not always an absolute menace. I have no idea where they are racing to or from, or why they seem to assume priority. But occasionally the buggy drivers seem to have little patience or regard for pedestrians or other Dubai Walk (the clue is in the name!) users.
