About
Standing over 2,700 feet and 163 floors high, this record-breaking skyscraper in downtown Dubai is the tallest structure in the world. Burj Khalifa has several open-air viewing decks and swanky lounges which offer splendid views of the UAE and the Persian Gulf. The highest lounge is located at level 154, and there is even a hotel at levels 38 and 39. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill architects, this mixed-used development atop Dubai Mall is inspired by the Great Mosque of Samarra in Iraq. You might want to buy skip-the-line tickets or join a tour to avoid snaking queues at this popular attraction in Dubai. – Tripadvisor

Top ways to experience Burj Khalifa
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Downtown Dubai
You can’t fail to miss Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. It towers over the city and resides in the prestigious Downtown development. Once an old army base, Downtown is now the jewel in Dubai’s crown, a beautiful residential and leisure area housing not only the world’s tallest building, but the world’s largest fountains and mall. Wide marble sidewalks are perfect for strolling, with restaurants, art galleries and children’s play areas. Specially commissioned sculptures line the roads and Downtown is often used as a canvas for modern art displays and community events such as Classic Car Shows and National Day parades. In the cooler months, cross one of the many bridges to the Burj Khalifa park and enjoy a picnic alongside residents and visitors, or enjoy a lunch or dinner watch the dancing fountains. Because of its mixed use, Downtown is a fantastic place to mix with Dubai residents and locals and watch real life unfold in a cosmopolitan environment.

    Amazing views
Went at arounf 10 30am. Big group tours already waiting, too. The time at the waiting area was quite long, but you can't change it. Since there r only 2 elevators taking all the guests to the top. Beware of the professional pics taken for you, they cost a fortune (more than 50EUR each)!

    Stunning views
Well, worth a trip! The journey in the lift to the 124 floor is incredible, so smooth and extremely fast! The view of Dubai is amazing. If buying their photos, just buy one as we were then given a code to download the rest but they don't tell you this!

A must do when visiting Dubai
We booked this via our hotel and we were so glad we did. On arrival, we were told to go to the ticket office, this is on the ground floor of the Dubai Mall, they have a que system, much like an airport, so be prepared for long ques. We were very lucky, as we got there at 3.45pm, we got our tickets, and found that we couldnt actually go in until 5pm, but that was ok, as we wanted to explore the Mall itself. We found a beautiful little gift store, had a good look around and decided to purchase our little gifts when we came down from the Tower. We didnt have to que for long, there was only about 10 people in front of us, so we proceeded through to security, they check your bags etc, do not take items like lighters, vapes, anything that may cause concern, you have to leave your items in the '' luggage store' at the front of the ticket office, they give you a tag with a number on, and they secure your items until you come back. You are expected to go through all security checks before going to the lifts, this can take some time, so allow enough time. Walking through to the lifts that take you to 124/ 125, you see the history of the Burj Khalifa, from ground up, take your time to view all of the history, its amazing. At the lifts ; you que for a short time, for us it was about 6 mins, from ground to 124 it took aprrox 1 min! absolutely amazing, the lift goes dark, then you see special lighting, and graphics, your ears will pop..... just like in a plane! On arrival 124, the view is spectacular, you see Dubai in a different way. It does get very busy after 5pm, so the earlier you go the better, well it was for us, as we had the full viewing, and didnt have to try and get our photos with out disturbing others. 125, is a small flight of stairs up, no lift, this is where you can experience the '' cracking glass walkway''. you hear the noise of glass cracking, it is loud, but not really anything special. sorry... The gift shop is again not bad in price, you can also buy a drink . Beautiful views of Dubai in a semi circular viewing point. There are photo ops that try and get you to buy the photos, but our advise is take your own photos, save your cash, they are only imposed on a background of the burj, and personally you can do better yourself. There are gift shops to buy your Burj gifts, and they are not to bad in price. In our package we booked dinner in the Burj Club, its a set menu, and the food was quite nice. Cocktails and beers were extra charge, £11 for a cocktail, and £10 for a beer! You can enjoy the water fountain show while having dinner, enjoy Overall, a Great experience, you cant go all the way to Dubai and not visit its best landmark. The water fountain show is superb, it starts up every 30 mins after 6pm another great feature not to be missed.

    Elegance
My family and I visited the Burj Khalifa in July 2023, and it was an absolute highlight of our Dubai trip. The view from the top was mesmerizing, and the staff's professionalism and hospitality made the experience even more memorable. A must-visit for anyone in Dubai!

    Architectural skyscraper, lovers dream...
Certainly offers a wow experience. Sunset into bright night lights, is a sight to behold. Floor 125 can get very crowded - with pushy tourists. Not easy to find in the Dubai Mall. Taxi can drop you at the wrong entrance - so do your research for drop off....

    Family viewing
We bought our ticket on-line in the UK and went for a viewing for the 124/125 floors for a time before 3:00 pm (?) because after that time the price went up. If you use public transfer to get to it and get off at Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall metro stop, you should be aware that the station is about 10-15 walk away from the actual mall but the walkway is under cover with a/c. Buying our ticket in advance and arriving at the set time allowed us just to walk in with no real queues for the very fast, quite cool lifts. There lots of official picture opportunities there with artificial backgrounds put on them but at the cost of £50 for a photo I thought it was extortionate. At the top there are obviously lots of people doing selfies and taking pictures and I thought the viewing decks would be a bit bigger but you do get a great view of Dubai. There is a usual gift shop at the top with a very small , expensive drinks/cake place.

    A sight to see
A great way to see the city although it would be more spectacular if it was a clear day (not that common in Dubai due to the haze). Well run and only took about 10 minutes in the line to get into the elevators and up to the 124th/125th floor. The 360 views of Dubai are a sight to see. Lots to see and buy at the top. A well oiled machine to get you up there. We used the Dubai Go City pass and that got us straight in without having to book a time. Well worth a visit.

    Incredible views of Dubai
Absolutely amazing experience to see Dubai from above. You’ll get views of the incredible buildings, fountains below, the coast and vast dessert where construction is ongoing. It is something you have to try once in your life. It was even more special to do this on our honeymoon and my birthday. We did a sunset ticket which is more expensive but worth it when you get to see the view by dusk and night with all the lights. If you are scared of heights (I am), trust me when I say that it actually feels okay.

    A must-see experience
One of the top things to do in Dubai. A wonderful attraction. Very slick with staff organising visitors so all runs efficiently. Be prepared for a wait at peak times (2 hour wait even in Autumn). Book in advance. We booked online and received seamless service. Photos can be pricey but it’s par for the course with similar experiences. Gift shop is well stocked. If you get the opportunity try the virtual reality experience it is hilarious

Though a must see while in Dubai, at least from the bottom, be careful about purchasing any extras like VR or the boat show for the fountain as the times you purchase don’t mean anything. We bought a sunset At the Top and VR package at 4pm thinking we could go up at 4pm to watch the sunset, but the time didn’t matter and they just had us wait for almost 2 hours in a line and nearly missed the sunset when we got up there (which you pay a 50% premium for each of our 5 tickets at this time). When we got up to the top the windows were dirty and so pictures looked bad toward the sunset because the light reflected all the finger and handprints, as well as the dirt outside the windows. Plus, people would camp out at the windows and not move and sit on their phone so getting a good view for a picture with your family was difficult. When we wanted to do the VR at the top we paid for we were told it would be another 2 hour wait (what??!?!?), and after waiting an hour some worker told us we might want to go down to the bottom now because the lines get to be an hour long at 7pm, and we paid for an 8pm “reservation” for the fountain boat ride so we didn’t want to miss that. So after forfeiting our VR experience that we paid for our family (which my kids and wife we pissed and ruined our experience) it got worse when we went down to the fountain boat line and our prepurchased tickets and reservation didn’t mean jack squat as we all had to wait in the same line and that was, you guessed it, another 2 hour line. This is the worse organization of any place we’ve ever been and it ruined our experience, and with young kids we couldn’t wait the whole 2 hours again and after an hour we eventually got tired of hearing complaining and people cutting in line with no one managing the queue properly, that we left and forfeitures our money paid for that experience as well. In the end, if I did it again, I wouldn’t pay for sunset, just go at like 2-3pm because it will take you 2 hours to even get up there. Definitely don’t pay for VR cause you’ll waste another 2 hours for a short experience that your family won’t want to wait for anyway (not much to do while you wait), and don’t buy the boat trip if you don’t want to wait in line for 2 hours, just take videos, photos from the side like everyone else.

We tried to buy a ticket around 4pm at the desk but it was all fully booked for the rest of the day so I’d recommend booking online. Booked online for the next morning 10am slot. No queues and we went straight in. Kids enjoyed watching the videos and looking at posters of how and when it was built. We had good views below the building and you can see 360 degree views of Dubai. However you can’t see very far into the distance as it’s quite hazy. There is a shop at the top and a VR experience for an extra 35aed. It’s a must if you go to Dubai but you only need around an hour for the whole visit.

We went on one of the 154th floor VIP visits at 5pm which also allowed us to see the sunset from the observation deck. From the moment we arrived it was a well organised visit with excellent customer service. The view and the atmosphere at sunset was superb.

I realise it is not always a viable option, especially if taking a whole family, but if you can afford the small upgrade cost to go to the higher floors it really is a lot more comfortable in terms of numbers of people. An extra 30 floors or so probably doesn’t alter the view much, but we did go to the floors on the 128th level etc and they did seem incredibly crowded and uncomfortable to just manoeuvre yourselves around.

It's the craziest building I have seen with the craziest viewpont at over 400 metres high. A good advice is to buy your tickets in advance, preferably for a non-weekend day and if you don't care that much about the sunset, then in the earlier hours. We went from 1:30 PM and it was super okay, but coming down we've seen queues already forming. Also, been strolling there in the weekend and the queues were crazy.

Finished visiting during the day? You hope! Go back in the night for awesome light shows every half an hour maybe?

We travelled to Dubai from our hotel in Abu Dhabi on the intercity bus from the airport on my daughter's birthday to visit the Burj Khalifa. I had booked the Sky ticket, wondering whether it was going to be worth the premium price. We both concluded that it definitely was.

The queues for the regular At the Top tickets were very long but as a Sky ticket holder we skipped the queues completely and were taken directly into a lounge whilst waiting for several more people to arrive.

From there we were taken to specific elevators up to the 148th floor - again with no queuing. Once there the atmosphere was relaxed, unhurried and there were only around 20 other people present. You could sit and enjoy the complimentary coffee and dates whilst admiring the view. We spent a good 45 minutes on the 148th floor before catching the elevator down to the 124th and 125th floors.

In comparison these floors were absolutely heaving with people and the view felt noticeably different too (being 23 floors lower down). Wearing our VIP stickers we were then able to skip the elevator queues to go back down to the ground.

Overall, it is an undeniably large premium cost for The Top but as a one-off treat we both thought it was money well spent.

me and my husband did the high tea experience at the Burj khalifa which meant we were able to go to the 154th floor to viewing points. we had an amazing time the service was excellent and the views were incredible and beautiful.
we were treated extremely well.

I would recommend the high tea experience, you are able to go to the 154th floor, the more standard ticket is less expensive but the views are less brilliant. The other perk is that there are no crowds and you can see views without glass in front of you. The pictures are cracking!

With this ticket you can access the lower levels anyway, and thats how we found them to be crowded and the glass is covered in finger marks meaning the pictures aren't as great.

We had an amazing time. A highlight of our Dubai trip.

we bought tickets on line two months ahead for the
4:00 pm tour. it is well organized. the entrance is from the mall where you must get your preordered tickets based on the reservation you made.
big bags or back packs are not allowed but you can leave them at a special place.
we booked the 124 and 125 floors, the next floors to visit were 148 which is really expensive.
there is a terrace of 360 degrees view and with some patience you can watch the fountain show from above.
it was a unique experience shared only with our last visit of The Patronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur.
both have the same concept: a garden with water show in front of the building and a fantastic view.
the visit at the Kalifa tower is not limited in time which is good because you can wait at the coffee shop to enjoy the sunset.
our ticket included also a coffee and cake served after you descend from the tower but before you leave the tower premises. It was fresh and tasty and there is a lot of choices.
do not forget (how can you) to buy some souvenirs from the shops situated on both levels.
Love it !!

30minutes of daylight, then sunset, and then 30mins of night light is what u should plan. sun set must watch from burj khalifa, so best ticket time is 3pm or 3:30pm, its cheaper as it is non prime slot, prime time slots from 4pm to 6pm are costlier. there is long queue for the lifts, 30 mins to 1 hour waiting. even for online bookings, standing in queue for hard copy ticket is must. so take this 3pm slot ticket and stand in queue timing is so that u do not miss atleast 30mins of daylight view from burj khlifa, then sunset.

They give timed entry to go up to the 124th floor - but they let too many people go up. It was so overcrowded, with people pushing and shoving to get to the front for their photo opportunity. Views are amazing, but be aware morning often gives better views as heat haze from midday can make views not so good. They just need to control how many go up at a time to improve this ex-erience.

Awesome construction, THE must see in Dubai (and impossible to overlook). If you plan to go up the tower here are two essential pieces of advice:
1) Don’t choose the VIP experience to go to the 145th floor. From this height the 20 floors down to the regular observation deck are barely noticeable. Not worth the money. 125 is good enough.
2) Choose the “skip the line tickets” for the observation deck at floor 125. This is well worth the money as it allows you to be done in 1-2 hours as opposed to taking at least a half day. When we visited there were hours long lines to get up and down and with the skip the line option we bypassed all of them, like a breeze. It cost much more but this is the only sensible way to get to the top in my humble opinion.
