Right in the heart of Recoleta, directly on the plaza, this museum is only BS15 to enter, but you will have to wait for a tour guide, who alas, only speaks Spanish. The tour takes in the surprisingly large grounds, the cloisters, the beautiful choir...More

Interesting little place. Fun to go to if you have the time but not a 'must see/must do' thing in Sucre. Had my own private tour but in Spanish. Felt a little rushed but lots of information. Like the oldest tree and the choir area...More

Guests are taken on a guided tour, but unfortunately, only in Spanish. You are not allowed to roam on your own as many of the doors are locked, so the guide not only leads you from room to room, but unlocks and relocks the doors...More

Like some other reviewers said, the tree on the inside is Huge!! Very cool. Overall I felt like the place was in disrepair and could use some attention. A lot of the rooms/areas were roped off and we were not allowed to see them.

Beautiful museum, however, you are only allowed 30mn to visit it, which we only found out because we were taking time to look at everything, to the annoyance of our guide. Also, all explanations in Spanish only, although, we became aware that she could understand...More

This was a painful experience and I would not recommend the museum unless you're very, very interested in religious iconography and ephemera. They do have some nice art as well as vestments and chalices. And it's interesting that franciscan monks still live there. Nice, but...More

The tour was quite interesting, although we weren't given any time to linger in the beautiful gardens & not left alone for a second. Of course I understand there are still people living there who might not want tourists roaming around. Impressive, but a bit...More

This museum had the potential to be great with lots of beautiful courtyards and interesting artefacts. Unfortunately the staff completely ruined it. We arrived and paid quite a lot to get in we were then made to wait until the guide had finished her chat...More
