What a hidden gem on the 3rdfloor of an historic building in the center of downtown Alpena! Fabulous art and an awesome fundraiser auction complete with a gourmet dinner and an amazing artsy vibe. It's open all the time with classes, local art for sale and much more. Truly a beating heart in the center of a very cool downtown.

Great second floor treasury of affordable one of a kind artistic gifts... one for you, one for me , one for you , one for me ... could have gone on and on and on. The artistry ranges in size and price. This gallery of art for sale had the most reasonable prices for pretty pieces on the Michigan tour that... More

We were able to experience a variety of art forms as we toured the loft. Every type of art work was available for purchase, from pottery to sculpture to jewelry and painting. It was a good experience.

We wandered up to the third floor after eating lunch below. This whole repurposed old building is interesting. The art on sale is a variety of flat art, pottery, jewelry, knitted scarves.

Wonderful array of art from flat art to pottery to jewelry to wood carvings. Even if you choose not to purchase something, the stroll through the art is entertaining. And should you decide to buy, many of the prices are very reasonable. You can easily spent 20-30 minutes here just enjoying the atmosphere and art.

Found this gem on TripAdvisor. The building was very cool. Old wooden floors and a loft-style gallery (dying to know what was up the drop-down ladder to the attic!) They had a decent sized gallery of artwork including drawings, paintings, jewelry, woodwork, glass and pottery. There is also a kitchen for culinary classes (none were going on when we were... More

I love this place because it is located on the 3rd floor of one of Alpena's oldest buildings with a view of Lake Huron as you look over the roofs of the downtown buildings. You can order lunch from The Fresh Palate downstairs & they will bring it up to you to enjoy with a great view. The variety of... More

When I was a kid the Center Building was the home of "Monkey Wards"...better known as the Montgomery Ward Co. Today, it has made a wonderful metamorphosis. On the street level is a marvelous restaurant, across the hall a winery that grows its grapes down the road & on the 3rd floor (drumroll) Art in the Loft! This is just... More

Art In the Loft always has wonderful works on display, with their summer and winter shows. In between the main shows, they have displays of works from local youth. Alpena has some incredible artistic talent and this is a great place to visit regularly.
