Classic college town - but very pricey. Lots of food places, but everything closes at 10 pm - That makes it rather unfriendly if you are visiting from the western US. Otherwise, clearly a happening place

It is nice to see a vibrant, thriving downtown as so many cities have ghost towns and malls on the outskirts. So many places to pop into and great food. Parking is insanely expensive, especially at the UofM lots ... I would return on a...More

Really cute downtown area. Didn't even mind walking around it on a rainy Saturday morning while we were visiting, as there are many unique shops and restaurants to visit. A highlight for us was locating the fairy doors, as a self guided fairy door walking...More

...but parking is atrocious! I recommend parking in a city lot on a Sunday in which they charge no fee UNLIKE the UofM lots which still charge a friggin' fee on Sundays!

Main Street is comprised of shops, bars and an eclectic series of restaurants. Fun to walk the street, but not unique among large university towns. Very pleasant and vibrant.

Main St is a good place for tourist. I wouldn't say many locals shop there, but locals definitely eat there! In order to afford the rent, the restaurants must have really good food that packs in the crowds. That's why there really isn't a bad...More

Ann Arbor is the home of the University of Michigan, and down town is very interesting. When you find a parking space, take it and walk the area. Every ethnic restaurant is represented and the stores are all one of a kind. In the summer...More

I moved to Ann Arbor to teach at the University of Michigan and was sad to find the Main Street area so bland--and, at night, pretty closed down. Over the years and with planning by the city and down town companies, Main Street has become...More
