We enjoyed Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park but would probably give it a 3.5 rating, not a 4. First of all, the park isn't really on the way to anything, so we added an extra 1.5 to 2 hours of driving to get there (Was traveling up...More

We spent in the campground en route from Oregon to Utah. The campground was great for tent camping with level areas and lots of shade. Clean outhouses. The evening we arrived we enjoyed poking around the ghost town of Berlin which is being kept in...More

Over 110 years ago, brave miners and laborers lived here. It is still very far from anywhere. It looks about the same for all these years. Travel slowly for five minutes on dirt road to see it. Native vegetation and solitude are wonderful.

I didn't go on the ichthyosaur tour because they don't start until Memorial day. But there are windows to look through. And trails. The Ghost town is cool and still has a lot of the mining equipment and original buildings. The campground is nice. Cheap...More

This was part of a one-week road trip to remote Nevada to see the full moon and explore off the beaten paths. Truly one of the nicest state parks to camp at. Spent 2 nights here. Very quiet, few visitors, respectful campers, gorgeous roads and...More

Glad that we visited this state park, but were disappointed that there was actually very little to see (and read) about Icthy. Since there was no tour going on when we arrived and the door to the exhibit was locked, all you can do is...More

Getting there is a long, lonely and dusty drive but that makes it all the more interesting. We found the Berlin ruins to be on par with other "ghost towns" we have visited but there are only a few buildings that remain though the huge...More

Took the G kids here-isolated and remote. Wonderfull ghost town with mining near. The exhibit is fantastic. Great for kids/not so crowded as to be a problem-lots of room for the kids to RUN.

This may not be the place to stay/camp/visit with a big fancy RV due to narrow roads and small spaces. The tour in the fossil house is very nice. Not fancy, but informitive. Old town (ghost town) is worth the visit. Beautiful views. There is...More

Sitting high in the mountains behind Gabbs, Nevada; Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park is wonderful! It's ghost town/old mill ruins, dinosaur excavation site, and hiking trails are superb. Camping is relatively primitive; however, there are restroom facilities and water stand pipes. The upper campground is for RVs,...More

We went last September 2016. Roads are in good condition. You should not have any problems getting out there with 4WD. Enjoy your trip, it's remote and beautiful.
