Beautiful place, lots of plants and animals, nice swimming pools and lagoons. Birds (toucans, blue and red parabas, ostriches, etc.) are inside an enormous cage, they walk and fly around you. Don't give them your finger!!! There is also a cage with only butterflies. Tickets for adults cost less than $US20. It takes 30 minutes and there is a bus that depart every hour from Ventura mall and the last one return a 5pm. Bus ticket $US2. Don't miss it!! It has a hotel, restaurant and small snacks.

Visit Santa Cruz each year for work from Nova Scotia, Canada. Always make a point to visit here. Love getting my yearly selfie with the Toucans!!! Totally recommend visiting Bolivia, never had anything but great experiences, even met the President of Bolivia in Feb 2020 when she walked into the restaurant we were dining in.

This is a resort I regularly visit because of their butterfly park and aviary. The gardens are awesome and give you a glimpse of native South American forests, so the vegetation is rather exotic as well. There are plenty of orchids, bromeliad and several sorts of ferns which altogether make up a magic atmosphere.
The park itself has several pools, which comprise a day club with a SPA, a couple of bars and a gourmet restaurant. The food is awesome and unfortunately for me ( who needs to lose some 60 pounds) the portions are also rather generous.
There are also several cabins and a hotel. I stayed on Cabin 02 which is for two persons, and it is near the reception. The decoration is well made and the paintings are all signed by the Author.
The original theme of the park was the human mind, thus there is a very well made museum of natural history, called the "Evolusseum" which is equipped with a multimedia and english guiding system.
Users can also play sports ( soccer and volleyball ) or ride a train ( or whatever that vehicle came from or even horses.
The days spent in Guembe were urgently needed after this horrendous year, and I thank with my hearth the staff for always being there for me.

The owner of Güembé developed this land as a sanctuary for butterflies, some typical birds and animals from the amazons.
Our hostess was Ilia, she spoke several languages and labeled herself as an intelectual. Ilia did not disappoint, she knew every aspect of the resort as she was giving us the tour.
You can stay the entire day, walking the grounds , using the many amenities as rowing lift boats. They have many swimming pools. They also serve food in their restaurant.
I would highly recommend that you visit this sanctuary.

To go by bus you take it from outside Mall Ventura; It leaves until 12 noon and takes no more than fifteen minutes ($10 BoB). You can also go by taxi from outside the mall. It passes through the Pirai River towards Urubo (high neighborhood of Santa Cruz), heading southwest of the city. There are cabins to rent and the price is per person (quite high). The entrance can be alone or with lunch (you can ask everything at reception), in addition the gastronomic offer is not the best and they give preference to Brazilians and those who arrive before the main dishes are gone; arrive early. The theme of the park is quite formal and with well-thought-out spaces (there is not much distance between the different attractions). The pools have waterfalls and there are beach chairs (for people with reduced mobility it can be a bit demanding).
It has an aviary with macaws and toucans (do not show food because they become aggressive). Climbing the aviary tower you can feel the wind and contemplate the Urubo jungle. It has a very rustic turtle cage, a cage with a monkey and other loose ones. At 6pm they already add chlorine to the pools and the mosquitoes begin to arrive. It is a good place to spend the day, hopefully having a sunny day and going full of energy to enjoy the attractions without stopping to focus on the little things. Be careful that the photos are not far from the reality of the place.

The acceptable place, for everything you queue, the place is not prepared to receive many visitors, they do not let you carry food but, at the time of buying the food 1 hour to pay and another 2 hours to be served, the buffet or even say the queue of people.
Very lousy attention.
I do not recommend any relatives to go and enjoy there.

We went on a beautiful June day and the water areas were almost empty! We had several pools areas all to ourselves. The teens in the group loved the waterfall pool, and there is a great shallow area for littles. The kayaks are only for 12+. The aviary was amazing, though the boardwalk appears to need some repairs. We didn’t see a single butterfly in the butterfly closure, though! The lunch buffet was some of the tastiest food we had in Bolivia, though they did only had 5 bottles of water available for our group of 16!

Not worth full price, its best to get there after 3.30pm and pay half the entry fee. The butterfly emporium was pretty empty but the aviary was good. The grounds are quite nice. We sat by the pool for an hour or so but didn't get in as we couldn't smell any chlorine which made us wonder about the sanitariness of the water. There seemed to be plenty of other people enjoying the pools though.

The price-performance ratio is not quite right here. For 160 bolivianos we simply expected a bit more. Parts of the complex are old and unkempt. The animals are a big plus. The aviary and the mariposarium are huge and you can see some beautiful specimens. The pools are OK, but could be cleaner. The food is expensive and also rather average. We were a bit annoyed because the pictures promised a paradise and in reality it is just a nice place that needs a bit more care. We had a nice day, but we could have had a fantastic day somewhere else for the money.

Guemba is on the outskirts of Santa Clara. on your way there you pass through all the new neighborhoods and large new houses.
it is on the other side of the river. it is a nature preserve with a large restaurant and bar and a hotel. they have a few animals
and I would recommend going here for a couple of hours or more.
