It's the main attraction in the plaza. Open to visitors and it doesn't scream tourist trap. Well maintained. It's the pride of Santa Cruz. At night it's beautifully illuminated. They offer the opportunity to claims the bell tower if you're interested. Not very ornate inside compared to cathedrals in other countries.

It's definitely a must-see. You can get some really good pictures of the cathedral from the park, and you can also go into the cathedral and take photos from the upper level. Very nice.

Well, I entered to the Cathedral and started looking around. Before I know, I'm taking a part of somekind of Christmas play as a pastor. The show lasted 45minutes. And I don't speak any Spanish. Still happy times! And the place is beautiful!

One of the first major buildings from after Bolivian independence. A French architect, Felipe Bestres designed it and not a Spanish one. Look up at the wood work in the ceiling of the basilica. Wonderful. This church is very much alive. People worship God and numerous saints among them San Lorenzo to whom the basilica is dedicated. Good to get... More

The museum inside the cathedral is nice. If you are into christian religious tourism, this is a must-see place. I will only suggest at least a couple of guides, so they can immerse the customers into those many objects and stories.

The city of Santa Cruz - considered to be the second biggest city in Bolivia - in fact is a big village. Its narrow streets and old one-two-story buildings bring you back in time at least for one century. And a beautiful nature around along with the cathedral on the small central square is probably the most precious thing this... More

Excellent exterior. Recommend walking around the city plaza beside this building. You will not be disappointed.

This Cathedral located in Plaza 24 de Septiembre is a beautiful structure. Inside, we especially loved the resurrection painting on the tomb of the cardinal buried there. The painting shows a rear view of Jesus walking out of the tomb and the burial cloth from the painting merges with a real cloth. This image stays with you for a while... More

This is a Santa Cruz de la Sierra landmark. Go upstairs to the bell tower for a nice view of the plaza.
