I visited Banteay Srei in the late afternoon. It was not too crowded and certainly worth the trip. As the sun was going down in the afternoon the temple glowed in shades of terracotta and pink. The carving is a joy to see and walking...More

Very small compared to it's giant and better known neighbours of Angkor but so beautiful. It is like lace in stone. It is a bit of a ride from Siem Reap but certainly worth the effort: we have travelled a lot but have rarely seen...More

This temple is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. And is one the oldest temples built almost 1000years ago by vishnukumara. It is built of red sandstone.. And has been rebuilt and restructured several times.

Gorgeous rose colored stone temple. One of my favorites. The detail in the carvings is spectacular. Not as crowded as some of the other tombs which is great.

We were there in the late afternoon (4 p.m.) in March on a slightly cloudy day but even then I would have been hard-pressed to call the sandstone colour "pink", more like a "pale reddish-brown". We were supposed to go back... More
