As some parts of the Temple is already been rectified, what nice about it is that they really hired historian and professionals to do the job. If you have time, you may go to the top of the temple.

While this temple isn't the biggest or best, I would recommend adding it to a day temple tour. A guide is a must to get the mist out of any temple visit so ask for a recommendation at your hotel.

This is the last temple we visited on our grand tour. The temple is known for Buddha's faces on every main pillar of the temple. Just a cautionary advise, when climbing upwards pl be aware of the steep staircase.

A great view of Angkor Thom Area from up the steep heights of the Baphuon.. Thoroughly enjoyed this large pyramid stlye temple.. Dont forget to see the large reclining Buddha carefully concealed at the back of the temple...This temple was converted from Hinduism to Buddhism...More

This temple involves lot of climbing and they dont allow kids under 12 and pregnant women. The entry foyer is also nice to walk on.

Amazing views from the topmost tier of the entire angkor thom main road. Just next to bayon temple. there is a nice walk through a causeway to the entrance of the temple.

Some of the trees that intertwined with the ruins, strangling the gates are ancient figs. I'm not suggesting that these are the trees you observed but it might not be a bad place to start.
