We stopped by to take some photos of the lake where the dragon boat competition is held annually. The school village buildings were already an icon. Took some really nice photos there.

The school isn't special at all. Go to Xiamen University instead, located around an hour away on the island - that will give you a much better experience.

There are many campuses around this area, to go shopping in the student market is very affordable. Visit the Huaqiao University campus and see their old architectures. Also visit the College of Navigation for their interesting looking dorms

A good place to wander around. I would say go to Xiamen University first, then visit Jimei university. Nevertheless, I'd probably only visit if I had an extended period of time in Xiamen (few weeks or more). Still a beautiful campus though.

Walk around Dragon Pond and see these buildings. They were all built by one man. They architecture is stunning. If you go in May you can see the Dragon Boat races and by then the weather will already be hot.
