It is a good collection of items that tell the story of Xiamen. Being quite a new settlement the focus is of the recent colonial era.

Large museum with multiple exhibition halls, the most interesting in my opinion are the walkthrough exhibits on the right hand side on level 1 and 2 which talk about Xiamen's history and culture. It's free and close to the Westin hotel. Good rainy/hot day activity.

This newish museum has a good collection of engaging exhibits, and is good to keep you occupied for 1-2 hours. Worth a visit for historical perspective on the region.
