A really beautiful place full of history. A wonderful onsite museum that outlines the history of the fossils. I will go back one day. You need to be fit to walk around, however, there are 'cart' type cars that will drive you around.

The stone carving looks very magnificient, near the area where we had our hovercraft ride to see the Yellow river. You can even climb up to see the stone carving up close and personal.

I couldn't help but feel like these enormous face statues were China's response to the tourist attraction of Rapid City, South Dakota. That being said, the statues were pretty awesome. They have a whole courtyard of other fascinating artifacts in front of them as well. I was particularly drawn to a 20 or 30 foot tall dragon bell. This is... More

The head of the two emperors can be seen from afar. There is a very long stairway to climb to the top. Only attempt this if one is into climbing stairs for exercise. There is a large square installed with historical figures at the base of the statues. However these figures are only identified in Chinese. There is no shade... More

If you are in zhengzhou for tourism, there is not much to offer. This site however, about a half hour outside the city near the yellow river scenic area, has these enormous mountain carvings, plus some beautiful gardens/ caligraphy in stone scenic areas. If in zheng zhou, worth the trip.

The statues are more prefab than carved, but they are impressive. You can climb near the statues, but be aware that the path is not smooth. Once to the top you get a good view of the Yellow River. They also have a big bell you can ring for 1 RB and if you're a westerner people want to take... More

Getting to this park took nearly two hours by bus from Zhengzhou. It's got a nice view, and you can climb to the top of the sculptures, but that's about it. There's nothing historic at all about the site; it's all recently built and is nothing more than the government's attempt to capture some tourist dollars. Most of the construction... More
