This was the first gorge area we went through coming fromWuhan to Chongquing. The scenery is amazing and because the river starts to narrow, you are able to view a lot of various boats using the water for transportation. Very peaceful and tranquil.

Xiling Gorge is one of the beautiful three gorges you'll see on your cruise itinerary upstream from Yichang, but it does go by pretty fast. Have camera ready!

Xiling Gorge is the most eastern, ie the most downstream, of the three gorges passed through on a Yangtze River Three Gorges Cruise. This gorge is located between the Yichang dam (Gezhouba) and the main Three Gorges dam. Of the three gorges viewed on this...More

This trip was an Optional extra on our Yangtze River 4 nights cruise. It turned out to be spectacular and we were very glad we decided to do this. The scenic views are fantastic. See attached photos for the proof.

This was the beginning of our cruise and although there was a heavy mist the scenery was still beautiful. A variety of boats/ships can be seen too. I particularly liked the old traditional ones
