Our Shanghai friend took us on a day tour of Suzhou some 60 miles west of Shanghai. Suzhou is s modern city famous for its gardens. Our first stop was at the Jinji Lakr (golden chicken) area with many new modern buildings that included exhibit center and halls, resorts, ferry pier and high end restaurants fringing the lake. There is... More

This is a lovely area to take a relaxing stroll (but watch out for the odd bike and scooter!) Obviously the lake and views are lovely but there are also some interesting sights to be seen as you walk around varying from Karate classes to Sculptures (see how many literary classics you can spot)

Located very closely to SIP and good view to look at and to remember Singapore. Nice, cleared and quiet lake when there is not too many people around.

I come here regularly (mostly with visitors) and this is how to see / show a kind of ancient / traditional China. Small streets (also try the small streets besides) with small shops and - like always - food. Try the cat coffee shop that is also located here ... a coffee shop full of cats. They did not came... Beware, you can not bring your bike along this part of the lake... Quite disapointing as I did not get to see it all. The noth part of the... More

It is a nice place to chill and just enjoy the moment... There are several parks around the lake where you can just sit and relax or stay at one of the coffee shops nearby. It is not as crowded as other cities in China.

The lake is not much to write about but the scenery surrounding the lake was beautiful with amazing architecture and lovely lights at night and some really amazing food spots. We went and ate at a bar called Johnson's and had some amazing eisbein at Meisterbrau's next to the spectacular science and arts building. We walked around the stellar international... More

Went there for a walk and we are so amazed by it's view. Sadly, we didnt have the chance to try the restaurants(closed) around the lake due to chinese holidays.
