Nice place to spend a while...though not astonishing. The best part is to grab a tea next to the garden

This little gem is tucked away off a back street, so we used Google maps to show us the way. It is shown on the Suzhou tourist map but you may need more help than that. By Suzhou standards this is a small garden but...More

This Garden is small compare to other Suzhou Garden, it's not easy to find, need to walk a long way from the main road, the admission fee is RMB10. Small but you can find every elements of Suzhou Garden, the most important is that, only...More

Difficult to get to. Requires walking through shady alleys after taxi drop that are not sign posted at all. Once you get there, you find a tranquil oasis. Highly recommended if you don't mind a bit of walking and asking for directions.

Smaller than the more famous Humble Administrator's and other Gardens in Suzhou, the Yipu Garden (or Garden of cultivation) is hidden behind a warren of houses not too far from the tourist street of Shantang Jie. While the garden is faded and has clearly seen...More

Probably one of the oldest Suzhou gardens, it still kept some Ming Dynasty flavors in the carvings of window panels, simple & harmonious. Only the maintenance is in poor condition, you can see how Chinese treats their treasures left from ancestors without any respects. Which...More

It's really not that difficult to find. It's marked on Google Maps (VPN required), Baidu Maps, and (much better) Gaode Maps. If you enter Tiankuqiain (天库前) from Wuqufang (吴趋坊), just north-east of the garden, there are painted direction signs on the wall, just look for...More

This is as charming as any of the Unesco gardens, but made more so by the lack of crowds, and mostly locals visiting. Lovely pathways, pavillions and plantings in the traditional style of Suzhou. At first we thought there was a school nearby, with all...More

Since I speak Chinese, I asked two taxi drivers to take me. Neither had heard of it or even recognized its location on a map. The third driver took me as close as he could. I then wandered through interesting alleyways (asking periodically for directions)...More
