Marshall Zhang (1901-2001) is a legendary historical figure in China. It was interesting to visit the large complex of Marshal Zhang's Mansion/ Museum and to be brought back to his era during the visit. Recommended for a visit whilst in Shenyang.

We were in the House of Zhang. It is a large walled enclave with Manchu architecture and a splendor European mansion behind .An army barrack was built next to protect it .Warlord Zhang Zuolin, his 5 wives and mistresses stayed here .There are large halls , courtyards , a bank , military office ,and smaller mansions . Zhang Xue Liang, he was the son of general Zhang ZuoLing. In 1920-1930, Zhang Xue Liang was a leader of his army, resist Japanese army invading.
