I've spent many days on la Loberia beach. Part of it is a cliff where there are male sea lions that were exiled from Peru. This attracts lots of people. Yet the beach adjecent to it is not crowded. It is a surfing beach, and swimming there is not allowed due to high currents. Don't attempt on swimming out from... More

There are seals and the entire area had been rebuild. It's more pleasant to walk nearby and there is a walk area that connect the Loberia and La Chocolatera (not sure about el morro).

We went to the Loberi'a while on a family vacation. If you are into nature and seeing things in their natural habitat then go here. There is a colony of sea lions that inhabit the rock there. REALLY cool to see them. Ecuador has done a great job setting up a view site while preserving the Lions' space and anonymity.... More

Maybe there is a better time of year to go here. The sea lions were sleeping on distant rocks; the current is too strong for swimming at the beach; and it's really really hot.

Marvellous beach, if you want you can walk to the chocolatera. The view from the viewpoint is priceless, On top of that you can watch the sea lions in the nature relaxing on the stone right in front of you.

Having been to the Galapagos, this was a bit of a let down, but it is cool to know that some sea lions live off the mainland coast of Ecuador.
