Where else in the world can you see such ancient beauty... Truly a moving experience. The museum is really well thought out too and def worth a visit. Enjoyed the gardens and the whole atmosphere.

The public portion of the monastery takes 30 minutes tops. Jethro’s Well. Burning Bush. Main Church. Museum for the collection/library. They have some really cool/old manuscripts and other artifacts, but after awhile the icons bleed into one. Not a must see stop unless you hike...More

This monastery is not worth visiting. You are amidst large numbers of tourists with their guides peering round the corner to get a view of the so called burning bush. The only other building you could go in was the church and it was covered in...More

The Monastery is beautiful situated within the mountains. I loved the serenity of it. Because there were hardly any tourists there, we were able to take the atmosphere in completely. I loved it.

It takes several hours to ride out here and you pass through about 11 checkpoints. They only asked to see our passports once. We never felt unsafe. The monastery itself is part of a 1500 year old fortress, supposedly built around the burning bush from...More

I would not travel 3 hours one way from Sharm-el-Sheik to visit this monastery, but if in the area then it is worth going to. The church within the walls is small and not particularly remarkable and the burning bush, well is just a hanging...More

Plenty of roadblocks (literally), a passport is obligatory, a path to the monastery is long, ascending and dusty. Our group spent there less than one hour. Only a few places are open for visiting and even less places are allowed to take photos. But the...More

The Burning Bush can only be seen from a distance because it had to be fenced off because people kept picking "just one leaf". The same with St Catherines burial crypt, now inaccessible to tourists. There was a young boy who drew the laughter of...More
