I joined my friend on a trip to one of her favorite places in the world, Ghost Ranch. While she took a pastel class, I decided to do that R&R (rest and relaxation) option. I enjoyed the Chimney Rock hike, Georgia Okeefe tour, site history tour, and the on-site museums. In my free time, I also went to the Purple... More

We drove from Santa Fe to Ghost Ranch not knowing what we would find. At the Ranch, we paid the $5.00 fee to walk around the grounds and decided to take the hike to Chimney Rock. From the base of the hike, we had no idea how high the climb would be. Hikers coming back down told us the terrain... More

We skipped the Georgia O-Keefe museums and hiked up to chimney rock. It was a great hike, the last bit involved a lot of scrambling and high stepping over some loose rock, but it was very doable if you just take your time. Bring along water and a camera - the views are amazing.

There is no ranch that I could see. You'd get better views driving around on your own. Good place to stop and use the rest room.

This location is worth the drive! Deeply steeped in history and legend, from geology, paleontology, Georgia O'Keefe, haunted Indian gravesites, cattle rustlers, to breathtaking vistas, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Guided tours are available and highly recommended. They serve 3 meals a day at the mess hall and the food is very good. Bring your curiosity and a camera -... More

Ghost Ranch has a rich history and is worth visiting just for its beauty, but if you want to really experience the paintings of Georgia O'Keefe, a visit to Ghost Ranch is a must. Get out of your car, don't take the site seeing bus around the ranch. Either hike or do the horse back riding trip. You can't get... More

Thank you for your review of Ghost Ranch. I am pleased you had the opportunity to experience a horseback ride with our wranglers. Your suggestion of booking in advance is important as our tours and wrangler rides are very popular and continually sell out. I have passed along your kind words to Daniel and the wranglers. The staff at the... More

When you drive into Ghost Ranch, the scenery is beautiful. However, we stayed at Casa del Sol (for a Georgia O'Keeffe immersion weekend) and witnessed the truly amazing scenery! If you can't stay there, do go on the O'Keeffe landscape tour, to go into the gated area, near her house and the most glorious scenery you could imagine. Lodging is... More

We went there to see the O'Keeffe home but it is off limits. There was a Georgia O'Keeffe cabin where she stayed before purchasing the Pack home on 7 acres. We stopped in the library. Maureen was most helpful with info about the library, the ranch, and good place to eat around the area. If it had been warmer, we... More

If you want to really dive into the Santa Fe beauty, Ghost Ranch is the place to go. The horse back riding trip is great for beginners who have never rode before and experts on riding. Thank you for your review of Ghost Ranch. Your tip regarding water is greatly appreciated. The Ranch offers a wide variety of outdoor activities and with our altitude, it is always recommended to carry water, have sturdy shoes, and wear sunscreen. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Ranch on a future visit to northern NM. More
