This was our first stay at Ghost Ranch but I am sure we will return. Perhaps we were fortunate to time our visit during a period of superb fall weather, but it would be difficult to improve on the combination of scenic beauty and peacefulness. The cottonwoods were magnificent. We booked en suite rooms on the mesa (by phone, no... More

It was hard for me to glean much information about this place from their website. There is a lot of info but everything is sort of geared to special groups. Is it a retreat for specific groups of people or organizations? Is it a cultural center, open to the public? Is it a museum? Can people who are not in... More

Please be sure to visit this beautiful place staffed by friendly informative people but beware the sleeping accomodations are marginal at best. I would rate them as one step above camping in a tent. Other than this, the tours are outstanding, the views incredible, the landscape beautiful, the walking trails delightful, and the people welcoming and friendly. The food in... More

Thank you for your review of Ghost Ranch. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. While our accommodations are not to the level you may find in Santa Fe, the experience of being away from the chatter and noise of daily life, unplugging from the world, even if just for a day, is what many of... I've been coming to Ghost Ranch since 1979. The place ain't fancy or ritzy but there's no where on earth I'd rather be.

Although it has been two years since I visited, I continually bring this destination up in travel favorite destinations. Once there one is immersed in natural beauty, scenery, color. I highly recommend taking pictures, it will remind you of the raw beauty this place evokes. We hiked around for a while, there is a stone maze here as well as... More

Thank you for your review of Ghost Ranch. I agree that sunset and sunrise are among the most beautiful times to be here. Words and or pictures cannot convey the majesty and serenity of witnessing one or both of them. I look forward to welcoming you back to the Ranch on a future visit to northern NM. More

I did most of my fieldwork here in College and I frequently return to get away from life and spend time hiking in the desert. The geology is amazing, the setting is surreal, and the hiking is wonderful. You have probably seen one part of Ghost Ranch or another in a Western movie at some point.

Ghost Ranch is spectacular. The wide open vistas, the towering buttes, it has it all. The accommodations are spartan. The cafeteria style dining might not be everyone's idea of fine dining, but $13 for an all you can eat pot roast dinner was really amazing. The trade off here is location. You are one with nature. The stars at night... More

First let me say, I did not go on the guided tour. Maybe that makes the bit difference. The place was just okay. I went because I love Georgia O'Keefe. As the title suggests the scene on the way out is fabulous. As you enter you can take pictures of the cabin from that billy crystal movie (name escaping me).

Thank you for your review of Ghost Ranch. The name of the movie you were thinking of is "City Slickers" and it is one of many movies filmed here on the Ranch. We offer a movie tour on select dates which highlights some of the locations. It is one of our most popular. I hope you return to spend more... More

Our friends invited us to visit the Ghost Ranch. We took the 1 1/2 hr tour of the landscape and stopped at the spots where Georgia O'Keefe painted some of her works. We were kept amused by the many stories associated with the ranch. The landscape is enchanting and captivating. A must see for art patrons.

Amazing views, great hikes, two small but fascinating museums: paleontology and anthropology, horseback riding, and a wonderful bus tour of Georgia O'Keeffe's landscapes- the tour guide was superb! We stayed for two nights, definitely would love to have stayed longer.
