Viper island can be reached by a short ferry ride from Port Blair. The island has got ruins of gallows from where the prisoners of cellular jail were hung. Unfortunately whilst these are very important historical sites they have not been maintained properly.

Prisoners were kept here before Cellular jail was built. They were also hanged here for capital punishment. You just get to see ruins of jail and gallows here. The ferry ride to the island from Port Blair jetty is also exciting.
