Breathtakingly and jawdroppingly beautiful hike to the rim of Dog Canyon. Quite strenuous, especially the part between the Line Cabin (milemarker 3) and the rim (milemarker 4), be careful here! Last mile is quite level. Hike end at dirt road. Beautiful views at White Sands...More

This place is cool. It will leave you awestruck, just looking at the beauty of the mountain, next to the desert. The riparian trail was really nice also. Bring sunglasses, and water! I wouldn't recommend hiking it alone, because of the mountain lions, and the...More

Views, gorgeous light, lots of vegetation and fun trails. The trails are shady in the morning. Go early.

My hubby and I enjoy going here for a bit of hiking. I also enjoy having a bbq and bonfire at night. The sky at night is magnificent. They have campgrounds but I don't camp.

We stayed here while we were visiting White Sands National Monument. We reserved our spot ahead of time. Upon getting there, we were a bit confused because the visitor center was closed and we didn't see the sign with the site numbers on it. We...More

a drive in the mountains was rewarded with a spectacular view of the valley and White Sands. There were places to pull off and enjoy the view.

This was the closest camp ground to White Sands and it is a beautiful campground. It's quiet with gorgeous views of the mountains to the Southwest. There are shelters on some of the camp sites, and a real bathroom with showers.

Hi, I've heard this is a great campsite but that there may be issues about the campsites not being level vis a vis an RV. Are some better than others? Thanks

We had a trailer in Site 2 which was fairly level. Site 1 across from us also looked fairly level. Great stay.
