Neither my husband nor I are particularly intersted in Mahatma Gandhi, but this museum formed part of our private tour. Our tour guide took time to explain points of interest and we were surpirsed that we enjoyed it as much as we did. I think we probably spent about an hour here.

Founded by Ghandi in 1915 it is the most popular tourist attraction. Has beautiful pictorial gallery of historical events in Ghandi's life. In an effort to provide greater insight into Mahatma Gandhi's exchange of views with the greats of his time, the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad has taken up a mammoth task to transcribe and publish over 8,500 letters he... Fascinating, clear displays covering the history and philosophy of the great man. In the middle of the chaos and bustle of the city this is a wonderful quiet, peaceful spot.

Life and tribulations of the Mahatma is captured and exhibited in a photo gallery. The collection is vast and very informative. It serves as an inspiration to the visitors and acquaints us with the "Freedom Struggle" which... More

Awesome serenity and peace. The great Mahatma's spirit is still palpable. The interpretive display was well done and the grounds tidy. Self-guided, if you take your smartphone, there is a program you can listen to whilst there.

When there's a lot of places dedicated to a single person, it becomes hard to maintain them all. We all know who great Gandhiji was, but the thing there're a lot of places dedicated to him. It's good to have such place, but the over exposure sometimes makes it boring. The same thing applies to it. Although it is good,... More
