From the outside (near the Ayurvedic college and Nehru bridge) this mosque looks old and doesn't give you an idea about how extraordinary it is. It is an amazing piece of architecture with incredible artistry in stone. I was told that we could visit the mosque except during mass prayers. Better upkeep and information would surely have tourists interested. Footwear... More

We stopped by Jama Masjid while on a walking tour of Ahmedabad. We approached the entrance, anticipating to have to take off our shoes. We were greeted by an elderly man who stated that we would have to pay to use our camera to get in, fair enough by this point in our trip we noticed that you have to... More

It is located centrally in old city near Mahatma Gandhi Road. Being very crowded area it is better to take a three-wheeler. Casual dresses like half-pants etc. are not permitted to enter. I was provided with a loose trouser to wear over my shorts. If you want to take photos or use camera then charges have to be paid at... More

I took off my shoes to enter the mosque but I was held at the door by a man in white asking that I pay 300 ruppies to enter. I asked why he wasn't asking other visitors and he insisted I pay. I walked away and asked a police officer if payment was necessary. He clarified that the payment was... More

It is located in the hustle and bustle of the Old city of Ahmedabad. The entrance is so regular that you wouldn't expect such a vast and beautiful space inside. My favorite is large the calligraphy on the walls. Highly recommend being fuly covered- Boys in shorts are not allowed in!

The Mosque is not terribly big so you can see it in an hour or less. But the carvings and the history are interesting. Also, don't wear shorts or they won't let you in.

One of the many Monuments of Ahmedabad, Mix of Arabic Hindu and Jain architecture. Its 260 pillars are mesmerizing. Very peaceful and calm place. in the bustling market of Ahemdabad
