Well worth a visit but must be booked in advance. One is taken around under close supervision. Unfortunately you cannot take photographs and they have run out of all postcards, which was a great disappointment. The collection deserves a much wider range of exposure to the public, rather than the somewhat grudging access we were allowed.

This was a working mill in Ahmedabad at once. Now it has been converted as a museum. but the museum is not well maintained. there is nothing attractive in this place. its just the waste of time type of place. don't go there until you are totally out of your mnd.

A strange place, where you have to take permission to visit one day before form some private organization. that too kids are not allowed. What the museums are for then?

This place is very well maintained with peacocks freely moving and sculptures very well beautifully decorated. You need to book in advance as they take only limited number of visitors per day. You are not allowed to take camera /mobiles/water/bags and shoes inside. Its sort of conducted tour. The actual museum of textiles is in 2nd half, which is very... More

This is a really good place to visit. It's a well maintained private property. Once you get in, you'll have an amazing feeling with all the greenery and peacocks roaming around. You'll get to appreciate the art in textile making and not just look at them as pieces of cloth to cover ourselves. The guide was a old lady. She... More

A couple of things that one should keep in mind before visiting this museum- 1.Unlike the usual museums that one is accustomed to visiting, this one doesn't allow visitors to roam around freely and check out the parts that may seem more interesting to the person. Rather, you are forced to take a guided tour which only happens at a... More

Fantastic museum with loads of wonderful artefacts and magnificient textiles from Gujarat and India. Guide visit in English that you have t obook ahead on their site. We were lucky to visit it in a very smal group (4 people). Worth setting aside half a day for it.

This place has an amazing collection of textiles, paintings and antique artifacts. It is owned by the Sarabhai family who allow the general public to visit the museum to see the wonderful collection. The entry is free and you need to book your tour in advance. A copy of your photo ID needs to be submitted in advance and you... More
