Floating boat houses, shops in the boats, Dal lake is the paradise for peace lovers. I stayed there a night in a beautiful wooden houseboat, and it was an amazing experience.

It is actually a tourist destination with all the mughal garden's around it . On the one side of it is the road and on the other side are the houseboats .

Dal lake is beautiful.. hire shikara n get going .. start journey by 4 pm so that you will end up all sight seeing n shopping before dinner time.

Been here in winter Jan and also now in summer. Luv the place. Be wary of all the peddlers there. They will sell anything and everything at an exorbitant rate. Definitely try the shikara ride. Negotiate like hell. They will give all sorts of sob...More

Good serene lake. However, there are lots of souvenir sellers who tag along with you in their own boats selling their wares. These people disturb your peaceful ride and push you to buy something from them.

I was just there last week. It's about 32degC in the day and comfortably cool at night to be in a light sweater. Did not rain at all while I was there for slightly over a week. Good to have a poncho ready or a light rain... More
