Its a shiv ji temple located at highest point of srinagar. mobile phones n camera are not allowed here. Its maintained by Indian army. Need to walk steps for around 20 min from parking area. Good scenes all around temple hill.

Shankracharya temple is located at a hill and hence offers arial view of dal lake and the city. The car goes right up to the top from where you have to climb 100-150 steps. The temple is centuries old and hence worth exploring. Overall a must visit once you have time. Also in case you want you can walk right... More

Shankaracharya hill gives a excellent view of the dal lake and the city. None of the electronic devices allowed atop of hill(So no pics :( ) Need to take 250 steps to reach the hill from parking. Hill is one of must see places in your travel list for Srinagar !!

Check out best view of Srinagar from the top of the hill. Though sad part is, they don't allow Camera when you go to the absolute top at the Temple premise.

You drive up and up from the town (security is pretty strict, unsurprisingly for somewhere with such a strategic view), and then there are still some steps to climb. The temple is lovely - very simple, just one building contain a Lingam, but a powerful place -... More

The Shankaracharya temple is located on a hilltop near the dal lake. The views are amazing. The temple is small but good. Worth a visit.

shankaracharya temple was built around 200 B.C at this hill but the present construction dates back to 9th century. It takes around 250 steps to reach the temple from the base after a thorough check by army. The place is so serene that you'll forget the chaotic life of the metros. The temple also encompass a very small cave where... More
