We visited shankaracharya temple and it is situated on the top of hill. Very beautiful and calm temple.

A must visit place to have a complete view of dal lake though there are too many steps to climb for the temple but worth it

Best place to visit in Srinagar to get arieal view of Srinagar city. But you are not allowed to bring the camera along with you.

Shankaracharya Hill is a beautiful location to start ones trip in Srinagar. One gets a wonderful view of the Dal lake and the city of Srinagar. The hill is accessible by car.

The hill has the Shankaracharya Temple. The hill gives a majestic view of Srinagar with Dal Lake below. Gud idea if one wants to climb the hill but one needs to be fit for that. Overall a wonderful experience.

There are many options available to reach this temple. You can hire cab and go there. Till base location you can go by cab and cab will be stopped there, from there you have to walk around 100 steps up. You will find good... More

I would say September to December is good . Things are bad now . Avoid till curfews are lifted . For transport you have to hire a car depending on the number of people you are on a daily basis . It costs around 2000 a day... More

Just came back from the City. It is absolutely not safe right now. I would say not this year atleast. City has been under curfew from last 80 days and nothing is operating at all.
