This is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is worshipped in Linga form here. The uniqueness of this temple is that there are several small and big Shivalingas here. As of now, there are around 90 Lakhs plus Shivalinga. The plan is to build 1 crore Shivalinga and hence the temple is called Kotilingeswara which means crore lingas.

Blessed to visit this temple on Maha Siva rathri. Once you enter into village , you will find huge car parking space, temple is fully surrounded with cops as huge crowd expected on this day. Looks like in normal days there won't be that crowd. It took 30 mins to visit all 3 important temples in the premises , normal... More

Visited this place after visiting Chikka Tirupati. It takes around 2hrs 15min to reach this place from Chikka Tirupati. 1) This place has good parking facility. 2) One can observe that many people have installed Shiv-Lingas, even politicians. 3) This place also has a Balaji Temple inside and is good. 4) Entry fee is Rs.20 per head 5) One can... Kotilingeshwara Temple is the famous temple of Lord Lingeshwara and is situated in the Kolar district of Karnataka on the Bangarapet-Bethamangala road. It is said that there are lakhs and lakhs of lingas installed there with many... More

It is about 100km from Bangalore. Roads pretty good. Temple was too crowded when we went on Jan1st 2017. Not good hotels near the temple premises although you will find few dabas . Foods were ok. Carry enough water. It took hours for us to reach.

We visited this temple with lot of hopes but disappointed.I personally would love to visit Shiva temple. My personal suggestion to people who want to go there, 1.Carry your own food including water since no good food outlets available. 2.Higly commercial place and you shall visit once for the sake of visiting. 3.The area around is also not very good.... Takes 3 hours to reach from Bangalore. Own transport recommended. No decent hotels after Kolar. No hotels after Mulbagal. Road till Mulbagal is 4 lane. 2 lane thereafter till the temple. Better to visit in evenings, 4-6 pm. Can spend 1 hour Max inside the temple.
