When you visit Mangalore or Udupi, make it a point to visit the Durgeshwari Temple in Kateel close to Mulki. The unique feature of this temple is the temple is uniquely located and the river Nandini flows in between.

This is a Devi temple of yore uniquely located in between the river Nandini. The river meets the see in Hejamadi inbetween Mulki and Surathkal. The place is really attractive in rainy seaon when gushing waters flow on either sides. The temple precincts are quite spacious, allowing for large gatherings.

After visit of Kudupu Sri Anantha Padmanabha Temple, Manglore we further drive to 25 km to a small town named Kateel. Here we visited a well-known, famous and sacred shrine dedicated to Sri Durga Parameshwari. The Temple is located on the banks of the River Nandini. Several legends are associated with the Temple, which is mentioned in the Puranas themselves.... More
