Jeeps are the only mode of transportation to Kolukkumalai. We drive through the town of Suryanelli and then onto tea plantations. Kolukkumalai tea is term of tea sourced from Kolkkumalai is the world's highest tea plantation in Munnar (8199 ft above sea level).

I wont prefer it, you have to spend a lot spoiling your shock absorbers after the 3 hrs of drive on the road. also some of the places the curves are steep and difficult to turn.
