As part of our Citrus tour package we had a wonderful morning learning how to use the spices and the health benefits that they give. She cooked four dishes for us one chicken curry, a marinated grilled fish and two vegetables dishes, one with panner (we had them for lunch which was lovely). We learned so much in the couple... Went this morning to maria's cooking class. She used only fresh ingredients and wonderful spices which we blended up. We learnt to cook a variety of curries and chutneys and then sat down and had a delicious lunch. I have come back wanting to cook more indian food at home in Australia. Thankyou for a wonderful day. Please she is... More

Went to Maria's afternoon cooking class last week. She told us lots of information on spices and how to mix and use, then we made a variety of dishes (then ate them!) Maria shared with us how to make the ingredients like coconut milk, cashew paste, and the recipes were easy to follow. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I really... More

Maria is an amazing cook and incredibly knowledgeable about her ingredients and about both South and North Indian cooking. We learnt a lot about why we use each spice, how to balance them properly and how to make what can only be described as the best potato curry in the world. Her husband, George, is a great character and we... More

We had a wonderful morning learning how to balance spices with Maria. She cooked four dishes for us one chicken, one fish and two vegetables all or which were fantastic (we were allowed to indulge in them for lunch). We learned so much in the couple of hours we were there particularly how to make the amazing purées from garlic,... More

Had the great pleasure of joining a scheduled cookery class Maria had planned with 4 other travelers. We were warmly welcomed into the home and the heart of it "the kitchen". Maria chose a selection of dishes for us to make after we gave our input. Every ingredient is fresh and natural. Maria has a passion for cooking which is... More

We had an amazing cookery class with Maria. She let us choose what we wanted to cook. We cooked veg curry, daal, aloo paratha, thoran, lemon rice and fried bananas. Maria talked us through all of the spices and how to blend them, and how they are used in South Indian cookery. She also taught us how to make onion... More

Took a lot of interesting facts about spices from this class, what Maria knows about both North and South Indian spices and cooking is amazing, thankfully she hands out some notes to take away.. there is so much knowledge to take in I forgot half of it. There was seven of us in total at the class which was a... More

Our class was represented by Australia, Belgium, France, Luxemburg and USA. We cooked Chicken Marsala, Dhal Fry, Veg Thoran (cabbage, coconuts), Paneer with Green peas. Maria invites you into her home, she explained the spices and why they were used in specific orders. We recommend her class to anyone wanting a hands on experience rather than a "demonstration".

Well imagine our surprise when the Maria we were booking had past away and we were dealing with a poser. This was ridiculous. The woman was teaching us to cook poison. Honestly! I couldn't believe that she thought that what she was offering was of culinary quality. She cooked with red dyes. (ARE you kidding me!!!) Then to a vegetable... More

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience. This was a different cookery class to mine, run by a maria in fort nagar. I am maria george and my class is on burghar Street (same Street as Kashi Art Cafe). I have not passed away and have been running the class for 14 years. I teach only South Indian cookery... More
