About
David Hall is a beautiful old Dutch bungalow that has been restored and has taken on a new life as a cultural centre with a gallery for contemporary art, with a focus on providing a platform for young artists. With its café serving authentic thin crust pizzas, delicious bites and beverages; and a space for performing arts, the historic building could be an inspiring, vibrant meeting place for fresh talent and lovers of art.

Best in Fort Cochin to eat, take coffee, and chill
Brilliant place to hang out for lunch, supper, or simply coffee and cake. Tables in shade looking out over a lovely garden; a classic 17th century building beautifully restored with high vaulted wooden ceiling, a pleasure to be in, maybe wander round looking at the art exhibitions; when I arrived someone was playing trad Hindu music adapted for the saxophone, which echoed gently from the rafters. Service is great and prices reasonable. Its close to Vasco da Gama church, chinese fishing nets etc, but main problem is that you won't want to leave.

Worth the visot and take your time for it.
Amazing place. I accidentally stumbled upon this place and entered from the back. First impression great old building, beautiful garden. Then I saw the restaurant and took a bite. I do recommend the poched egg with avocado sandwich, its really fantastic. Then I entered the bakery, the shop, and then the art gallery. I also spoke to one of the artist, it was a real fun and pleasant experience.

    Fabulous cafe
Great space both inside and out. You walk through a small art gallery area past the food counter to get to the garden. There are plenty of tables all with shade and fans. The garden is very pretty and a very green natural haven. The food and drink were all fabulous, the best coffee so far in Kerala. Their pizzas were outstanding (we ate veggie) as were the other dishes. The staff were quick and polite. Highly recommend

    Old Quite Charm
It is a beautiful old restored around 300 years old Dutch bungalow which displays a gallery with contemporary art. There is a cafe 'Pandhal Cafe & Deli' which serves full day breakfast. Out of many options the Pizza is a must try. (Roman Peperoni). It is believed to be the residence of the Dutch commander who wrested power from the Portuguese. Later only it was named David Hall after it was bought by a Jewish family, who lived there.

Wow! This is the place to visit not only for their art display but also to enjoy a meal over chilled beverages. They serve all cuisines but famously known for the pizzas made right in front of your table, if you happen to get that enviable table. They have plenty of beverages and food for the health-conscious. We ordered a glass of pineapple juice and berry lemonade followed by thin crust pepperoni
pizza, finger licking good. Service is excellent. Full marks for ambience, except for the smelly toilet with no ventilation. Beautiful place to spend with friends, over tea, snacks and a delicious meal.

Been to david hall with family & friends, it had an art gallery at the entrance of the hotel . Ambience at the restaurant & bakery was good.

Staff were friendly & knew well what they were selling.

Their innovative probiotic juices were one of a kind and new to me. It was so nice to see the chef making pizzas live in front of our eyes.
Our favourite dishes were Korean chicken & their pizzas( thin but soft crust )

They pastries were one of a kind . Famous mattangerry plum cake was unique.

David hall fits in as a hangout joint for youngsters & a fine dining place.

We visited David Hall to look at an exhibition, not aware of the cafe and bakery. But over two separate stays in Fort Cochin it became our favourite restaurant. The pizzas are perfectly cooked, the mint and lime granitas the best I’ve had, and the almond coconut cake just amazing. But after numerous visits and had lots from the menu, everything was great! The staff were lovely and so calm (like the place). Even the toilets are gorgeous!

Cannot recommend highly enough if you’re visiting the area.

The beautiful Dutch colonial building was occupied by Hendricks van Rhede tot Drakenstein back in 17th century. He was a military man and avid naturalist. He was a colonial administrator of Dutch East India and became a governor of Dutch Malabar. He studied healing power of local plants which he described in his book Hortus Malabaricus. According to our guide he lived in this house. That just makes it so interesting. Today this location houses an awesome art gallery, restaurant and book store. Very recommended to visit and enjoy.

The ambience and the food choices. A great place to bring families. I took family there for breakfast as well as for dinner. The food was great. Kids loved the choices. Mora than that, there is not many places in Fort Cochin you can get a strong European style Espresso coffee at 9 am. The gallery was an added bonus.

We were 4 people who ordered in dining lunch. 3 of us got our orders. My order took a long time..so everyone kept waiting for my order to arrive. I told the person who took the order that it was better of all the food was brought together. Her response was..oh then the other food will get cold!!. This was stupid because as they were waiting for my food and their food was anyway getting cold!!
Later she brought my food and it was the wrong dish. When I asked her, she was unpaologetic, smiled and said..oh I got it wrong..No sorry, no apology.

I think that was very bad etiquette for service
